Closed circuit television is simply called video surveillance. CCTV refers to a system where video cameras send a video feed with in a closed circuit to the recorder or a display unit. CCTV differ from broadcast television, where anybody can view broadcast video. In CCTV system only authorized users are allowed.

DVR/NVR Recorder: Converts the electrical signals into the meaningful images which can monitored & the device that records video from up to a couple or more surveillance camera's on to a hard disk and monitor live camera's through mobile, tablet, PC or from other electronic devices.
Cable & Connectors: Transfer the electrical Signals to record for live viewing & recording, there are some of cables e.g. coaxial, RJ6, RJ11, 3+1, 4+1, Cat 6 etc.
Hard Disk & Power Supply: A hard disk drive (HDD)/ Solid State Drive (SSD), is an electro-mechanical data storage device that stores and retrieves digital data using magnetic storage with one or more rigid rapidly rotating platters coated with magnetic material.
A CCTV power supply box, also known as a power distribution box, allows surveillance system installers to easily manage the power to multiple CCTV cameras at a central point (usually at the location of the DVR). This allows your camera installation to be neater.
